Co-ordinated by Michael Richardson as General Editor and published by Bloomsbury, the three volume International Encyclopedia of Surrealism is an invaluable reference book for the subject, covering both general areas of concern as well as the work of individual surrealists of note. For details, see www.bloomsbury.com
Each entry has been written by an expert on the subject and I have contributed seven essays. One is a general study of ‘Photography and Surrealism’, which updates my previous summations of the subject.
I have also written five 2000 word essays on individual artists: Humphrey Jennings, Lee Miller, Jean Painlevé, Manuel Alvarez Bravo and Frederick Sommer. In addition, I have co-authored the essay on Paul Nash with Krzysztof Fijalkowski.
I have also provided a few illustrations, including a variant of the photo here, showing the urn containing the Freuds’ ashes in Golders Green Crematorium.
