Rephotography
The essay ‘Déjà vu’ was written in response to the first major book by the Rephotographic Survey Project: Second View, published by the University of New Mexico Press, Albuquerque, in 1984.
It was first printed in Creative Camera, 253 (January, 1986), from which these scans have been made.
In 2000, it was selected by David Brittain for inclusion in his edited anthology Creative Camera: 30 Years of Writing, published by Manchester University Press. It was then accompanied by an example from Third View, the extension of the RSP’s work into the 1990s.
