White Horses

As I travel on the train between South Wales and London, I always try to look up just east of Swindon to see the White Horse of Uffington on the slope of the downland to the south. It is both integral to the site and yet very strange.

These photographs were taken over the past five decades, some of them of the horse itself and others of its image as I have found it elsewhere. Some are local, some distant, all testifying to its iconic and enduring nature.
